Rules and Regulations

LCIC has established the following policy regarding the submission of English scores by students:

  • Only TOFEL (iBT), IELTS, CU-TEP, and Duolingo English Test are acceptable.
  • Students who do not have mentioned certificate can take the SI TEST with LCIC after admission approval.
  • Students have to submit their English scores within the first academic year to be able to join language classes in LCIC.

By adhering to this policy, we aim to maintain high language standards and ensure that students are equipped with the necessary English proficiency to succeed in their academic pursuits at Siam University.

Note: LCIC has the right to update or modify the requirements as necessary

⚠ Important Note

Students are allowed to take the SI-TEST within their first academic year at ICOSIAM. Students who miss the SI-TEST during their first or second semester will be required to submit a valid score from another accepted English proficiency test, including the Duolingo English Test, IELTS, TOEFL iBT, or CU-TEP, to satisfy the University's English language proficiency requirement.

Note: If a student's score is below the scores mentioned in the table above, the student will get the conditional offer to take Intensive English courses and not be able to register for 117-401 Fundamental English until passing the given courses.

Language Center and International College (LCIC) has established the following attendance policy in accordance with the rules and regulations of Siam University:

  1. Attendance Requirement
    ○ Students are required to attend at least 80% of all scheduled classes during the semester.
  2. Absence of More Than 3 Class Sessions
    ○ Students who miss more than three (3) class sessions will be required to complete additional assignments or academic activities as determined by the instructor to compensate for missed learning outcomes.
  3. Absence of More Than 5 Class Sessions
    ○ Students who miss more than five (5) class sessions will be reported to the Registration Office and will not be permitted to sit for the final examination.
    ○ In such cases, the student will receive an automatic grade of F for the course.

    Failure to Meet Course Requirements

    ○ Students who fail to complete the required make-up assignments, assessments, or other course requirements may be assigned a final grade of F at the discretion of LCIC and the course instructor.
  4. Exceptional Circumstances
    ○ Requests for consideration due to medical emergencies or other exceptional circumstances must be supported by official documentation and submitted to LCIC for review.

The Language Center and International College (LCIC), Siam University, recognizes that Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies have become increasingly important in education and professional environments. Although the use of AI tools is not prohibited by Siam University, LCIC reserves the right to establish specific guidelines and regulations regarding the use of AI in English courses to ensure that students continue to develop their own language proficiency, analytical skills, creativity, and academic competence.

Principles for the Use of AI in LCIC English Courses

These principles apply to all coursework, including assignments, essays, reports, projects, examinations, presentations, and other academic activities.

  1. Originality and Academic Integrity
    Students must submit original work that reflects their own understanding, analysis, and language ability. AI-generated content must not be submitted as entirely the student's own work.
  2. Permitted Use of AI

    Students may use AI tools as learning support tools only for purposes such as:

    1. Draft feedback and revision
    2. Research and learning support

    Students must critically review and verify all AI-generated content and ensure that submitted work reflects their own understanding, analysis, and academic ability.

  3. Transparency and Citation
    Any significant use of AI tools must be clearly acknowledged by the student. Students should properly cite or disclose the use of AI-generated content in accordance with APA guidelines or instructor requirements. (Please see LCIC AI Declaration Form.)
  4. AI Detection and Review
    Lecturers reserve the right to use AI detection software and other academic review methods to evaluate the authenticity and originality of student work. Students may also be asked to explain, revise, or demonstrate understanding of submitted work.
  5. Responsibility and Accountability
    Students are fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and ethical integrity of all submitted work, regardless of whether AI tools were used.

Step 1:

Step 2:
Submit the required documents along with 1000 THB per subject within 2 weeks from the last day of the exam.

Important Notes:

  • Only the official make-up exam form is accepted
  • Payments after 2 weeks will not be accepted and may not be refunded
  • Applications will be closed after 2 weeks

You can apply on the exam day—no need to wait.

Special Cases:
Exceptions may be considered in emergencies (e.g., hospitalization).
A medical certificate is required.

Students' Class Attendence Policy

LCIC has established the following policy on Students’ class attendance:

  • According to the rules and regulations of Siam University, Students must be 80 percent present in class during the semester.
  • If the student misses more than 3 sessions, s/he needs to do extra assignments to fulfill the requirement of the course.
  • If the student misses more than 5 sessions, s/he is scored as I condition that semester and they need to contact LCIC to sign an acknowledgment agreement of their status.
  • If the student does not follow the requirements, LCIC has the right to score the student as F.

By adhering to this policy, we aim to create a conducive learning environment that promotes regular attendance, active engagement, and academic success for all students at our language center.

LCIC AI Usage Policy

Although using Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools and technologies has not been considered plagiarism in the academic world and it is not forbidden by the president of Siam University, LCIC has the right to set clear rules and regulations for students at Siam International College to use AI in their English courses in order to foster a balanced and ethical integration of AI and ensure that students gain valuable insights into emerging technologies while upholding academic integrity.

The principles of using AI in LCIC English course requirements including class or final paper(s), project(s), exams, oral presentation, or other works are as follows:

1. Students are NOT allowed to submit AI-generated work as their own.

2. Lecture(s) has the right to use AI detector tools to detect the use of AI in students’ work(s).

3. The acceptable percentage of using AI and other technologies is less than 40.

4. Students are ONLY allowed to use AI as a tool to generate ideas.

5. The data and information generated by AI should be cited properly in APA style.

Note: LCIC policy in using AI is subject to periodic review and may be amended as needed.
